It's really helping me to think about it for myself instead of non-reflexively adopting the ways that other people find helpful but that just run me down. I'm glad I struck a chord! I hope it's all going well for you xoAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08288935120774241198noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8137766683602731513.post-40741788235427540802016-02-10T12:46:27.813-08:002016-02-10T12:46:27.813-08:00Hi Wendy! I wouldn't say yikes about your sugar eating. We're all different in what we can handle, I think. there's diabetes in my family and I think I react badly to sweets (and have all my life) so it's really a particular health thing for me. By the way, I read another mystery writer I think you'd like: Canadian Louise Penny. Do you know here? Good writing, good social issues, great setting--she's just the kind of escape I like. Let me know if you do get round to reading her. Hope you're still doing as amazing as you have been! xoAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08288935120774241198noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8137766683602731513.post-23530691513367154062016-02-10T12:42:43.136-08:002016-02-10T12:42:43.136-08:00Thanks for your encouragement, Groundhog Girl! I am pretty high energy without the sugar, but if i turn into Tigger I will positively scare my husband! I'll have to pop by your blog now and see how you're doing these days. I hope you're well xoAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08288935120774241198noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8137766683602731513.post-79568056968025983842016-02-10T12:39:30.338-08:002016-02-10T12:39:30.338-08:00Hi Angie! For me, I didn't eat sugar for years and then took it up over the past year or so, so wha I'm doing is mostly trying to revert to my older, better eating habits. So far it's going well, but I'm not advocating that others do the same! Thanks for the visit! xoAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08288935120774241198noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8137766683602731513.post-27532517699364420022016-02-10T12:37:20.565-08:002016-02-10T12:37:20.565-08:00Jackie, your self care sounds like just what I'...Jackie, your self care sounds like just what I've been trying to figure out for myself. Acting like an adult is a big part of it. I do have to go easy on myself because I have a history of running myself too hard and falling into a big pit of despair, but doing a few small things that need doing really is just the ticket to avoid the big overwhelm. Thanks for visiting! xoAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08288935120774241198noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8137766683602731513.post-68310288797056590722016-02-09T07:32:51.336-08:002016-02-09T07:32:51.336-08:00Love this post. I am getting in 4 to 7 days a week now!
Better than 1 or 2!
I am finding I am eating too much sugar in the morning, as it's in my bran cereal, which I have to eat. Ugh. And then sometimes I eat hubs cereal which is all sugar.
And I have ice cream on the weekends.
Yikes!
xo
WendyUntipsyteacherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14975521042875808241noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8137766683602731513.post-69940627321310565522016-02-03T03:43:19.043-08:002016-02-03T03:43:19.043-08:00I too eat in a similar way as it makes me feel goo...I too eat in a similar way as it makes me feel good. Last time I quit drinking and made 168 days, I did it sugar free all the way and lost 50 or more. Sadly when I fell off one wagon I also dragged the sugar bag with me and started both drinking and carb loading for the marathons ie the drinking marathons, every night a bottle of wine and at the weekend more. For me alcohol and sugar and food are all problem areas and I don't have control of moderation in any of these areas. Well done you for getting back on track and working out what you needed to do. I hope you are a bundle of energy like Tigger soon, if that works for you.Groundhog Girlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00896347749384197279noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8137766683602731513.post-47089454801905446042016-02-02T17:25:48.509-08:002016-02-02T17:25:48.509-08:00Hi Thirsty, good on you for giving up sugar! I don't drink tea or coffee so I always forgave myself because I have to drink something right? Then I switched to the caffeine free stuff thinking it would help me cut down on the stuff. Well, I think the artificial sweetener is addictive because I still drink heaps of the stuff! I wish I had your motivation to look after myself better. But I figure not drinking is a good start! Tackling small insignificant tasks before they got to monumental stressful tasks (like sorting out receipts for tax returns, or returning a phone call to an unhappy client). Like going to the dentist regularly, and having eye exams. The sugary treats were great to start off with, and I do give myself afternoons off in front of trashy TV, but the real self care is getting stuff done before the "overwhelm" is back, and the stress paralyses me....and creates more stress. So my self care = dull routine :)Jackiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09236064383725290818noreply@blogger.com
